Race Information

What is the age limit for the Fort Lauderdale 13.1?
Participants must be at least 14 years old to run Fort Lauderdale 13.1. For those participants younger than 14 who would like to participate, please make sure to submit a contact request form in order to complete a minor waiver and further instructions on how to register your child.

Is there a limit on the number of participants in the races?
Yes, there is a race cap for both Fort Lauderdale 13.1 and 5K. Make sure to sign up early to reserve your spot in the race.

What time does the Fort Lauderdale 13.1 and 5K start?
The 13.1 race begins at 6:35 a.m. and the 5K will start at 7:15 a.m.

Where is the 13.1 start and finish located?
The race starts at SW 1st Ave & SW 2nd St and finishes at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park.

Are iPods with headphones allowed on the course?
We do allow headphones, but recommend that participants using them take extra cautions for the safety of themselves and the participants surrounding them such as using a low volume and wearing only one earbud.

Can I run with a baby jogger, skateboard, bike or dog?
No, in consideration for the safety of all participants baby joggers, skateboards, bikes and animals are prohibited on the course.

How long is the Fort Lauderdale 13.1 course open for?
The race course will be open for 3 hours and 30 minutes. Runners are expected to maintain a pace that will allow them to finish the course within that time. After that, runners will be able to finish the race on the sidewalk and will be treated like pedestrians.

Am I allowed to walk?
Yes, participants may walk but they must be able to complete the race by 10:30 a.m. Walkers must start behind the runners at the starting line. There is NO early start.

What time will the roads and lanes be closed for the race?
Road and lane closures will be posted. Visit our Parking & Directions page for the street list with times.

How many aid stations and what type of fluid replacements are offered?
There will be 10 aid stations along the course with plenty of water and sports drinks.

What do I do if I injure myself on the course?
There will be ambulance and bike EMS teams providing medical support along the course. Runners will have access to medical support at each aid station.

Will there be food at the finish line?
Yes, there will be a variety of food options available at the finish line festival. All race participants will have access to the food tent. Spectators will not have access.

Is the course USATF-Certified?
Yes, the Fort Lauderdale 13.1 course is USATF certified.

Registration

When does online registration close?
Online registration will close when the race is full or on November 12, 2015.

I don’t remember if I’m registered/I don’t know what my bib number is.

Do you offer refunds or transfers?
We do provide an optional registration refund, however no transfers from one person to another will be permitted. You may not give or sell your race number to another individual.

Can I register the day of the event?
If space permits, registration will be available on race morning from 5:00 a.m. to 5:50 a.m.

How do I change my race distance once it has been submitted?
Click here to go to your Chronotrack registration and select “Change Race” to choose a new distance. All changes must be done two weeks prior to the event.

Packet Pickup

Where and when can I pick up my packet?

What do I need to pick up my packet?
In order to pick up your packet you will need to have a photo ID.

Can I have someone else pick up my packet?
If you need to have someone else pick up your race packet, please provide the person who will be picking up your packet with a copy of your photo ID and YOUR email confirmation.

Results and Awards

Do all runners receive a reward for participating?
Half marathon finishers will receive a commemorative finisher medal and will be eligible for age group awards. 5K race finishers will also be eligible for age group awards. Following the race there will be live entertainment and an awards ceremony. All participants and spectators are invited to attend the post-race party.

Where can I find race results after the race?
Results of the Fort Lauderdale 13.1 and 5K can be found at the results tent on race day. Results will also be posted online after the race.

I can’t find my photos on Chronotrack, where can I access them?
Please follow the results link and enter your bib number on the upper right hand corner. Your results profile will autopopulate. Make sure to click on the Photos tab on the bottom to access your photos.

I want to track my athlete. How do I do that?
Please follow the link to register the participant with our Athlete Tracking! Note: This is not a live tracking application. You will receive an update on the athlete’s progress on course by receiving a notification every time the athlete crosses a timing mat.
