Support every step of the way

When you sign up for a 13.1 race, you become part of a larger running community. Our awesome 13.1 Ambassadors help fuel this community. These ambassadors are leaders, trained running coaches and a part of Life Time Run – a premier national training, coaching and group running program available through Life Time, The Healthy Way of Life Company.

We know that running a 13.1 is more than logging the miles; it takes commitment and sometimes friends and family to help each athlete cross the finish line. Your 13.1 journey is an individual achievement, but our 13.1 Ambassadors are here to help you on your path to the finish.

I have worked for Life Time for the past 13 years and am the Regional Manager for Life Time Run in the Chicagoland Area in addition to teaching Group Fitness classes. I have three children ages 15, 13 and 9. My greatest passion is turning non-runners into runners and seeing them believe in themselves!

I’m a mom, wife and boot camp instructor. I started running about three and a half years ago with my husband with a 5K. In 2013, I got a wild hair to sign up for a half marathon and my husband came along for the ride. I had my struggles along the way with runner’s knee and some major IT band issues, but I was determined. I ran my first half marathon in 2013 and it was tough, but I did it. What a feeling of accomplishment to cross that finish line and to know I had just run every single step of a half marathon. Since then, I have run three half marathons and have improved my finish time with each race. The half marathon has become my favorite distance to run. Running has not only kept me active, but has given me such a feeling of accomplishment.

I am a wonderful cheerleader for Life Time Run/Life Time Fitness and love the excitement of the events. I am the Run Coordinator at two clubs in the Dallas area as well as a Group Fitness Instructor. I plan to run the Dallas 13.1 again this year and possibly the Chicago Spring 13.1 or Atlanta 13.1, as well!

I was born to marathon-running parents and began running at age four. I have coached athletes ranging from the elementary school track and field participants to IRONMAN finishers. I am a former collegiate track and field and cross country athlete turned marathon runner, turned IRONMAN, and bring over 20 years of running experience to the program. I have competed in the IRONMAN World Championships for the past three years and have ambitions to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the Marathon (sub-2:43). My favorite part about coaching is being able to spread my knowledge and experiences to motivate and inspire others and I have passion for helping runners achieve their personal running goals. When I’m not running or coaching I am teaching seventh graders math.

I was not always a runner. I’ve experienced the ups and downs of completing that first mile without walking, getting to the finish line of my first 5K and taking the challenge to push myself further than I thought I could. From my first 5K in 2000 to my first marathon in 2012, I have learned that “can’t” is not in my vocabulary. I completed my first full marathon in 2012, qualified to run the Boston Marathon in 2014 and then qualified to run it again in 2015! I have a passion for helping people find success when they didn’t know they had it in them. My goal is to help people train for the Michelob ULTRA Dallas 13.1 and be proud of what they have accomplished. I once thought that I could not run a half marathon, and I proved myself wrong. My goal is to help prove to others that they can run a half marathon too!

I’m a lifelong runner and have completed more than 20 half marathons and 14 marathons. I’m a USATF certified coach, Life Time Run Coordinator and a member of the Marathon Maniacs. I enjoy working with new runners, introducing runners to new and challenging distances and bringing non-runners into our sport.

I started to run three years ago at my local church and in no time I started to run longer distances. Now, running has become my passion. I have completed several 5Ks and 10Ks, 42 half marathons, three 50Ks and two marathons. Running has given me the motivation to stay fit and encourage others to live a healthy lifestyle. The half marathon is my favorite distance to run and I love to share this wonderful distance’s journey with others. I look forward to motivating others and helping them achieve their running goals.

I’m a runner who runs anything from a 5K to a full marathon. I’ve been sponsored in the past by Marathon Bar (three seasons), Aquaphor (two seasons and Max Muscle (two seasons). I work for Life Time Fitness and am a Run lead for both Life Time Fitness and Cadence Running Company. My PRs include the following:

  • 5K- 18:30
  • 10K- 38:41
  • Half marathon- 1:31:38
  • Full marathon- 3:19:11

Karie has been running for over 35 years after walking onto the varsity team her freshman year of high school. She has run all distances from 5K to ultra-marathon to full IRONMAN, completing over 15 marathons, 50Ks, 50-milers and full IRONMANs. She is RRCA certified and enjoys working with runners to achieve their goals. Karie has more than seven years of experience training beginners to advance marathoners and enjoys the excitement when a new runner completes their first race! Her passion is to share her knowledge of running with others while helping them achieve their goals and make running a part of their lives.
